THE GREATER STELLENBOSCH DEVELOPMENT TRUST

The Greater Stellenbosch Development Trust is a resource centre and development co-operation organisation in Stellenbosch. We strive to bridge the divide in means and in outlook between communities, to find common interests and to strengthen civil society. To this end the Trust runs development programmes to nurture children, youth and human rights in the greater Stellenbosch.

The Trust builds capacity through long-term programmes to enable people to change their lives. When we plan and when we monitor and evaluate results, we also try to create templates that can be replicated elsewhere.

The Trust was established in 2002 by a small group of concerned friends. The Ikhaya Trust Centre was constructed in 2002 from the ruins of an old beer hall.
